Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure location meets requirements.

  1. Choose location: Stable, level floor with adequate ventilation (min. 10cm clearance on sides/back).
  2. Remove packaging: Remove all transit bolts and protective materials.
  3. Level the unit: Adjust feet/casters to ensure unit is level.
  4. Electrical connection: Plug into dedicated grounded outlet matching voltage specifications.
  5. Pre-cooling: Allow unit to run empty for 4-6 hours before loading samples.

WARNING! Unit is heavy; use appropriate lifting equipment or multiple persons. Do not block ventilation grilles.

First-Time Setup

Power on freezer; configure initial settings via control panel.

  1. Set temperature: Use SET button and arrow keys to enter desired setpoint (e.g., -80°C).
  2. Calibrate sensors: Follow calibration procedure in menu if required.
  3. Set alarm parameters: Configure high/low temperature limits, alarm delay, and buzzer volume.
  4. Set clock/date: For accurate data logging time stamps.
  5. Test alarms: Manually trigger door ajar and verify alarm activation.

CAUTION! Wear appropriate PPE (insulated gloves, face shield) when accessing interior at ultra-low temperatures.

Specifications

  1. Loading: Organize samples to allow air circulation. Avoid blocking vents.
  2. Door Operation: Open only when necessary and for minimal time to reduce temperature loss.
  3. Temperature Monitoring: Check display daily. Review data logs periodically.
  4. Sample Inventory: Maintain logbook separate from freezer memory.
  5. Defrosting: Manual defrost required periodically if ice buildup exceeds 6mm.

WARNING! Do not store flammable or explosive materials. Use only compatible storage containers (e.g., polypropylene, cryovials).

Alarm System

Monitors temperature, power, and door status.

Silence buzzer with ALARM RESET button. Alarm condition must be cleared first.

Care & Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

  1. Exterior Cleaning: Unplug unit. Wipe with damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
