Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a level, stable floor in a well-ventilated area.

  1. Positioning: Allow at least 5 cm clearance at back and sides for ventilation. Ensure the appliance is level using adjustable feet.
  2. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V AC, 60Hz outlet. Do not use extension cords.
  3. Door Reversal (if needed): Follow instructions in manual to switch door hinge side.
  4. Initial Standby: Let the appliance stand upright for at least 4 hours before first switch-on.

WARNING! The appliance is heavy; use two people for moving. Ensure it is not placed near heat sources (ovens, radiators).

First-Time Setup

After installation, prepare the appliance for first use.

  1. Initial Cleaning: Wipe interior with a solution of warm water and baking soda. Dry thoroughly.
  2. Power On: Plug in and switch on. The interior light should illuminate.
  3. Set Temperature: Turn thermostat to recommended setting (usually -18°C / 0°F for freezer).
  4. Load Food: Allow appliance to run empty for 2-3 hours to reach optimal temperature before loading food.
  5. Alarm Test: Check door alarm function by leaving door open for >60 seconds.

CAUTION! Do not load warm food. This causes excessive frost and strains the compressor.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary control is the thermostat dial, usually located inside the appliance.

Thermostat Dial: Settings from 1 (warmest) to 7 (coldest). Recommended setting is between 3 and 5 for approx. -18°C.

Alarm Reset Button: If alarm sounds (door open/temp high), close door or check temperature. Press the alarm button (if equipped) to silence.

Super Freeze Switch: (If equipped) Activates intensive cooling for freezing fresh food. Switch off after 24-48 hours.

Door Open Indicator: LED may blink if door is not properly closed.

Food Storage Guide

Organize food for optimal freezing and energy efficiency.

  1. Freezer Compartment: Store frozen vegetables, meats, ice cream, pre-cooked meals.
  2. BioFresh Compartment: Store fruits, vegetables, cheese, dairy at near 0°C for extended freshness.
  3. Packaging: Use airtight containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  4. Labeling: Label packages with contents and date.
  5. Loading: Do not overpack; allow air circulation around items.
  6. Freezing Fresh Food: Use Super Freeze function. Place food against rear wall initially for fastest freezing.

Tip: A full freezer is more energy-efficient than an empty one. Use bottles of water to fill empty space.

Maintenance & Defrosting

SmartFrost reduces but does not eliminate frost. Defrost when ice layer exceeds 5 mm.

  1. Switch off and unplug the appliance.
  2. Remove all food, placing frozen items in a cooler.
  3. Place towels inside and at base to catch water. Leave door open.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heat sources to speed defrosting.
  5. Once ice melts, clean interior (see Care & Cleaning).
  6. Dry thoroughly, plug in, switch on, and reload food once temperature is restored.

WARNING! Never use electrical appliances inside the freezer to accelerate defrosting.

Energy Saving Tips

Ensure correct thermostat setting (3-5). Keep door seals clean and intact. Allow hot food to cool before storing. Ensure adequate ventilation around appliance. Defrost regularly. Check door seal by closing on a piece of paper; if it pulls out easily, seal may need replacing.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Use mild detergent and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or scouring pads.

  1. Interior: Clean shelves, drawers, and walls. Dry thoroughly.
  2. Door Seals: Wipe carefully to remove food residue.
  3. Exterior: Clean with damp cloth. For stainless steel (if applicable), use appropriate cleaner.
  4. Condenser Coils (rear): Vacuum dust annually to maintain efficiency.

CAUTION! Do not pour water inside or over the appliance. Never clean with steam cleaners.
